Silverthorn Farm

Silverthorn Farm offers a variety of programs for those wishing to board, train, and show their horses with us. Training programs can start with foals requiring halter breaking and handling. Our skilled professionals can help you put a solid and sturdy foundation to your young horse. From lunging and stabilization programs, backing for the first time, to your horses first rides under saddle, we offer quality, patient training for your horses' most crucial first training days.

We also offer training from your young horse starting over fences to your seasoned show ring competitor needing a tune up. Those looking for a retraining program can also find this service at our farm. Whether its an off-the-track Thoroughbred looking to start a new career or a problem horse that bolts, rears, or bucks, our experienced professionals are happy to work with you to reestablish a stabilized foundation, and correct misbehavior.

For those looking to horse show, Silverthorn Farm attends many local and "A" rated shows. For our beginner and first time show riders we attend many local Athens Area Hunter Jumper Association shows throughout the year. We also host two AAHJA shows each year at our farm.

For our intermediate riders and young horses, we attend local GHJA shows throughout the Atlanta area. These are great, inexpensive shows to get show ring experience for both horse and rider. We also attend several "A" and "AA" rated USEF/USHJA shows throughout the Southeast for our seasoned and competitive show ring riders.  

Silverthorn Farm is also home to the University of Georgia IHSA Equestrian team. This team takes lessons at our facility and attends IHSA horse shows throughout the semester. We also assist them in hosting their yearly IHSA show as well as facilitate their Regionals competition when needed.
