Halley Stryker is the trainer and manager at Silverthorn Farm. Horses and riding have always had a huge influence on Halley's life. Starting at the age of four Halley started riding her family's quarter horses in the Midwest during summer trips, and the horses her mother and older sister were riding while living overseas. She really found her niche upon moving to Northern Virginia, and pursued Hunter/Jumpers out of the greater Middleburg, Virginia area. At the young age of 12, Halley started working at her local barn and learned from the start how to properly care and manage horses. Halley spent many years competing on both local and "A" circuits across Virginia, Maryland, and some in Florida, riding both her own horse and many catch rides wherever she could. After being accepted to the University of Georgia, Halley competed succesfully on the UGA IHSA team, at Silverthorn Farm, as a key rider. She was an officer and show manager for the program, helping to organize several successful collegiate shows including an Invitational Tournament of Champions. Halley now organizes and runs the hosted shows at Silverthorn Farm and acts as head coach for the UGA IHSA Equestrian Team, and trainer at Silverthorn Farm. She hopes both to further her collegiate riders and personal clients, and to continue showing and developing her own horses competitively on the local and "A" circuits.
